Using Set-Up Mode5-11Points to Rememberz We recommend that you use continuous forms paper for printing in the Set-Upmode because the output will exceed a single page. To load paper, use the FF/Load button. To adjust the line position of the paper in the Set-Up mode, use theplaten knob.z Whenever you enter the Set-Up mode, short help menus are printed at the top ofthe page. Help menus are also printed when you select the TESTS function. Usethe help menus for quick reference while in the Set-Up mode.z When printing the options and values for each function, you can move either for-ward or backward in the option list. To move forward (print the next option), pressthe È button. To move backward (print the previous option), press the Ç button.You can skip printing the value list for the undesired options by pressing andholding down these buttons.z While in the menu or when selecting a function that contains op-tions and selectable values, press the Exit/Save button to reprint the TIONS> menu. In this case, the red cursor is positioned beneath SAVE&EXIT.z A bolded (overprinted) value indicates that it is the current setting. An underlinedvalue indicates a selected setting.z While in the Set-Up mode, you can use the PRINT function to print out a list ofthe currently selected values. (See the next section for details.)z To exit the Set-Up mode and permanently save your changes, select theSAVE&EXIT function. For details, see the section “Save Settings and Exit Set-up mode” later in this chapter.z To exit the Set-Up mode and temporarily use your changes, press the Set-Up/Quit button. Your previous power-on settings will be active when you turn theprinter on again.
