It does not ³tune´ the 6:5 at the antenna feed point itself.:hen designing and Euilding your antenna system Ze recommend that eYery effort Ee made to ensure a loZ 6:5at the antenna feed point. 7he $78 of the FTDX 3000 includes memories for tuning data. (leYen of these memories are allocated one per$mateur Eand so that each Eand has at least one setting preset for use on that Eand. 7he remaining memories arereserYed for the mostrecent tuning points for TuicN freTuency change Zithout the need to retune the $78. 7he $78 in the FT DX 3000 is designed to match impedances Zithin the range of . 2hms to 2hms cor-responding to an 6:5 of or less on the through meter amateur Eands. $ccordingly simple nonresonantZhip antennas along Zith randomlength Zires and the ³*59´ antenna on most Eands may not Ee Zithin the im-pedance matching range of the $78.Atu operAtionu sinG the automatic antenna tuner. 8se the 0ain 7uning 'ial NnoE to set the radio tothe desired operating freTuency Zithin the $mateurband.. 3ress the [TUNE@ button momentarily to place the$78 in the transmit line no adjustmenttuning Zilloccur yet . 7he ³TUNER´ icon Zill appear in thedisplay.quicK point:The momentary press of the [TUNE@ button will turnthe tuner on and the microprocessor Zill automati-cally select the tuning point closest to the currentoperating freTuency.. 3ress and hold in the [TUNE@ button for one secondto begin automatic tuning. The transmitter will be en-gaged and the ³TUNER´ icon Zill ElinN Zhile tun-ing is in progress.
