FRONT WHEEL4-21• The front speed sensor cannot be disas-sembled. Do not attempt to disassembleit. If faulty, replace with a new one.1. Check:• Front speed sensor “1”Cracks/bends/distortion → Replace.Iron powder/dust → Clean.2. Check:• Front speed sensor rotorCracks/damage/scratches → Replace.Iron powder/dust/solvent → Clean.TIPWhen cleaning the front speed sensor rotor, becareful not to damage the surface of the rotor.3. Measure:• Front speed sensor rotor deflectionOut of specification → Clean the installa-tion surface of the front speed sensorrotor and correct the front speed sensorrotor deflection, or replace the frontspeed sensor rotor.▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼a. Hold the dial gauge at a right angle againstthe front speed sensor rotor surface.b. Measure the front speed sensor rotordeflection 2.0 mm (0.08 in) below the edgeof the front speed sensor rotor.▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲4. Adjust:• Front speed sensor rotor deflection▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼a. Remove the front speed sensor rotor.b. Rotate the front speed sensor rotor by 2 or3 bolt hole.c. Install the front speed sensor rotor.ECA1CW1401Replace the brake disc bolts with newones.TIP• When installing the brake disc and frontspeed sensor rotor, align the arrow “1” on thebrake disc, arrow “2” on the front speed sen-sor rotor and arrow “3” on the front wheel inthe direction of wheel rotation.• Tighten the brake disc bolts in stages and ina crisscross pattern.d. Measure the front speed sensor rotordeflection.e.
