THROTTLE BODIES7-17ECA14B1029• Do not use a tool, such as a wire brush, toremove the carbon deposits; otherwise,the inside of the throttle bodies may bedamaged.• Do not allow carbon deposits or other for-eign materials to enter any of the pas-sages in each throttle body or in thespace between the throttle valve shaftand the throttle body.f. After removing the carbon deposits, cleanthe inside of the throttle bodies with apetroleum-based solvent, and then dry thethrottle bodies using compressed air.g. Make sure that there are no carbon depos-its or other foreign materials in any of thepassages “a” in each throttle body or in thespace “b” between the throttle valve shaftand the throttle body.▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲3. Adjust:• Throttle bodies synchronizingOut of specification → Replace the throt-tle bodies.Refer to “SYNCHRONIZING THETHROTTLE BODIES” on page 3-9.EAS14B1111INSTALLING THE PRIMARY INJECTORSECA14B1046• Always use new O-rings.• When checking the injectors, do not allowany foreign material to enter or adhere tothe injectors, fuel rails, or O-rings.• Be careful not to twist or pinch the O-rings when installing the injectors.• When installing the injector, install it atthe same position as the removed cylin-der.• If an injector is subject to strong shocksor excessive force, replace it.• If installing the original fuel rails andbolts, remove the white paint marks usinga cleaning solvent. Otherwise, paint chipson the bolt seats could prevent the boltsfrom being tightened to the specifiedtorque.1. Install a new seal onto the end of eachinjector.2. Install the injectors “1” to the fuel rails “2”.3. Install the primary injector joint “3”, makingsure to install them in the correct direction.4. Install the injector assemblies to the throttlebodies.5. Check the injector pressure after the injec-tors are installed to the throttle bodies.Refer to “CHECKING THE INJECTORPRESSURE” on page 7-17.EAS14B1112CHECKING THE INJECTOR PRESSURETIP• After installing the injectors, perform the fol-lowing steps to check the injector pressure.• Do not allow any foreign materials to enterthe fuel lines.1.
