IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM8-118EAS27721SELF-DIAGNOSIS FAULT CODE INDICATIONWhen a system failure occurs, the error code number is indicated in the LCD display of meter andthe immobilizer system indicator light blinks at the same time. The pattern of blinking also shows theerror code.Faultcode Part Symptom Cause Action51 IMMOBILIZERUNITCode cannot betransmitted betweenthe key and immobi-lizer unit.1. Radio wave interfer-ence caused byobjects around thekeys and antennas.2. Immobilizer unit mal-function.3. Key malfunction.1. Keep magnets,metal objects,and other immo-bilizer systemkeys away formthe keys andantennas.2. Replace themain switch/immobilizer unit.3. Replace the key.52 IMMOBILIZERUNITCodes between thekey and immobilizerunit do not match.1. Signal received fromother transponder(failed to recognizecode after ten con-secutive attempts).2. Signal received fromunregistered stan-dard key.1. Place the immo-bilizer unit atleast 50 mmaway from thetransponder ofother vehicles.2.
