Parking BrakeThe parking brakepedal is located on thelower portion of theinstrument panel tothe left of the steeringwheel.This vehicle has a push-to-release parking brakepedal. To set the parking brake, hold theregular brake pedal down with your right foot andpush the parking brake pedal down with yourleft foot.If the ignition is on, the brake system warning lighton the instrument panel cluster should comeon. If it does not, you need to have your vehicleserviced. See Brake System Warning Lighton page 248 for more information.To release the parking brake, hold the brake pedaldown with your right foot and push the parkingbrake pedal with your left foot. When you lift yourleft foot, the parking brake releases.Notice: Driving with the parking brake on canoverheat the brake system and causepremature wear or damage to brake systemparts. Verify that the parking brake is fullyreleased and the brake warning light isoff before driving.A warning chime will sound if the parking brakeis set, the ignition is on and the vehicle beginsto move.
