The recirculation mode is cancelled when thesystem enters the defog mode. If recirculation isselected while in the defog mode, it is cancelledafter 10 minutes.If there is fogging on the side windows, remain indefog or defrost mode until they clear.0(Defrost): Press this button to direct most ofthe air to the windshield, with some air directedto the side windows and outboard panel outlets. Inthis mode, the system automatically turns offrecirculation and runs the air-conditioningcompressor, unless the outside temperature is ator below freezing. Recirculation cannot beselected while in the defrost mode.This mode can also cause the fan speed and airtemperature to increase.Rear Window DefoggerThe rear window defogger uses a warming grid toremove fog or frost from the rear window.The rear window defogger only works when theignition is on or during remote start, ifprogrammed. See “Personal Settings Menu” underVehicle Personalization on page 148 for additionalinformation.=(Rear Window Defogger): Press this buttonto turn the rear window defogger on or off. Besure to clear as much snow from the rear windowas possible.The rear window defogger turns off about10 minutes after the button is pressed. If thevehicle’s speed is above 30 mph (48 km/h), therear defogger stays on continuously. If turnedon again, the defogger only runs for aboutfive minutes before turning off. The defogger canalso be turned off by pressing the button againor by turning off the engine.The heated outside rearview mirrors also heat tohelp clear fog or frost from the surface of themirror when the rear window defogger is on. SeeOutside Power Heated Mirrors on page 130.Notice: Do not use a razor blade or sharpobject to clear the inside rear window. Do notadhere anything to the defogger grid linesin the rear glass.
