217 . . .––Section 2Passenger Safety BeltReminder LightThe passenger safety belt reminderlight is located on the instrumentpanel.When you start the vehicle, achime will come on for severalseconds to remind the frontpassenger to fasten their safetybelt. The passenger safety beltreminder light will also flash.If the passenger's belt is buckled,neither the chime nor the light willcome on.The chime and light will repeat ifthe passenger remains unbuckledand the vehicle is in motion.The warning light and chime mayturn on if an object is put on theseat such as a briefcase, handbag,or grocery bag. To turn off thewarning light and/or chime,remove the object from the seat orbuckle the safety belt.■ SUPPLEMENTALRESTRAINTSCAUTIONA crash can damage therestraint systems in yourvehicle.
