If the transmitter does notwork, or you have to stand closerto your vehicle than normal for thetransmitter to work:• You may have to replace thebattery in your transmitter. Seethe instructions for batteryreplacement.• You may be too far from yourvehicle. Check your distance.• Check the location. Othervehicles or objects may beblocking the signal.• An electronic device such as acellular phone or lap-topcomputer may be causinginterference.If none of the above apply, seeyour dealer or qualified techni-cians for service.Battery ReplacementIf the system does not respond tothe remote transmitter from anylocation within the normal range,you probably need to replace thebattery in the transmitter.REPLACE BATTERY IN REMOTEKEY (replace battery in remotekey) may appear in the DriverInformation Center display.See "Driver Information CenterMessages" in Section 1 for moreinformation.When the transmitter battery islow, the Driver Information Centermay also display ELECTRONICKEY NOT DETECTED (electronickey not detected) when you try tostart the vehicle.If this happens, place thetransmitter in the transmitterpocket in the center consolestorage area with the buttonsfacing to the front of the vehicle.Then, with the vehicle in P (Park)or N (Neutral), press the brakepedal and turn the ignition controlknob to start the engine.Replace the transmitter battery assoon as possible.$10araCTS Page 268 Tuesday, September 15, 2009 12:30 PM
