29 . . .–Section 1Under some driving condi-tions, including those listedbelow, it is normal for the tem-perature to rise above the usu-al operating range andapproach 122°C (250°F):- stop and go driving in heavytraffic- high speed operation inwarm weather- uphill driving- trailer towing or hauling aheavy loadYou may see the reading fluc-tuate. This is normal.If the pointer reaches 125°C(260°F) and remains there formore than 30 seconds, the en-gine coolant has overheated.The vehicle is also equippedwith an engine coolant tem-perature warning light. If thislight illuminates, the engine istoo warm. If the light remainsilluminated for 30 seconds, theengine coolant has overheat-ed. See "Engine Coolant Tem-perature Light" under"Warning Lights" later in thissection.If the engine coolant has over-heated, pull over and stop thevehicle as soon as it is safe todo so.
