Press the button on the shiftlever while pushing the shiftlever all the way into P (Park).Release the button.3. Turn off the ignition.4. If your vehicle is equippedwith a removable ignition key,remove the key from theignition.If your vehicle is equipped withan ignition control knob,remove the keyless accesstransmitter from the vehicle.CAUTIONAvoid leaving your vehicle whilethe engine is running.Be sure the shift lever is inP (Park) and the parking brakeis applied when you leave yourvehicle.If you are not in an idling vehi-cle, the engine could overheatand even catch fire. You orothers could be injured. Do notlet the engine run when you arenot in the vehicle.If you must leave your vehicle withthe engine running, check that theshift lever is fully in P (Park). To dothis, hold the regular brake pedaldown after you have shifted intoP (Park) and try to move the shiftlever out of the Park position with-out first pushing the button.
