– 62 –Chapter 4 Shooting — Variable frame rate (VFR) recording functionVariable frame rate (VFR) recording functionThis camera can shoot quick motion (undercrank) or slow motion (overcrank) video in 1080P and in the AVC-I100 mode. You can select native (PN) recording mode and standard (OVER) recording. In native recording, quick motion and slow motion effects can be obtained without processing recorded images in nonlinear recording system. Instandard recording, quick motion and slow motion effects can be obtained by processing recorded images in nonlinear recording system.Native variable frame rate recording1 Set [1080-59.94P] ([1080-50P]) in the main menu → [SYSTEM MODE] → [LINE&FREQ].2 Set either one of [AVC-I100/30PN] and [AVC-I100/24PN] ([AVC-I100/25PN]) in the main menu → [SYSTEM MODE] → [RECFORMAT].3 Set [ON] in the main menu → [SCENE FILE] → [VFR].4 Set the frame rate according to the shooting conditions in the main menu → [SCENE FILE] → [FRAME RATE].[FRAME RATE] can be changed using the dial button. For details, refer to “Direct menu operation” (page 75).5 Press the recording button.Recording starts in native variable frame rate mode.r Frame rate and effectQuick motion (undercrank) or slow motion (overcrank) effect can be obtained by the following frame rate settings.[SYSTEM MODE] Shooting frame rate that can be selected[LINE&FREQ] [REC FORMAT][1080-59.94P][AVC-I100/30PN][1fps], [2fps], [4fps], [6fps],[9fps], [12fps], [15fps], [18fps],[20fps], [21fps], [22fps],[24fps], [25fps], [26fps],[27fps], [28fps][30fps][32fps], [34fps], [36fps],[40fps], [44fps], [48fps],[54fps], [60fps][AVC-I100/24PN][1fps], [2fps], [4fps], [6fps],[9fps], [12fps], [15fps], [18fps],[20fps], [21fps], [22fps][24fps][25fps], [26fps], [27fps],[28fps], [30fps], [32fps],[34fps], [36fps], [40fps],[44fps], [48fps], [54fps],[60fps][1080-50P] [AVC-I100/25PN][1fps], [2fps], [4fps], [6fps],[9fps], [12fps], [15fps], [18fps],[20fps], [21fps], [22fps],[23fps], [24fps][25fps][26fps], [27fps], [28fps],[30fps], [32fps], [34fps],[37fps], [42fps], [45fps],[48fps], [50fps]Effect on playback Quick motion(Quicker in smaller value) Standard Slow motion(Slower in smaller value)Audio recording Not available Available Not available@@ NOTEt During native variable frame rate recording, pre-recording, loop recording, interval recording, one-shot recording, dual codec recording, and one-cliprecording can not be performed.t Audio cannot be recorded. At this time, no audio is output and is displayed over the audio level meter. When the recording starts, [VFR ON,NO AUDIO RECORDING] is displayed.t Time code is fixed to recording run.t The screen may be distorted when changing the frame rate setting.t Auto iris and auto focus do not function when the frame rate is set to [9fps] or lower, and when the shutter speed is set to less than 1/12. They must beoperated manually.t When the frame rate is set to [9fps] or lower, the shutter setting is forcibly disabled and shutter speed settings cannot be changed.t Audio can be recorded when the recording format is [AVC-I100/24PN] and the frame rate is [24fps], and when the recording format is [AVC-I100/30PN]([AVC-I100/25PN]) and the frame rate is [30fps] ([25fps]). In this case, the time code can be set to free run. When the frame rate is set to lower than [12fps], the shutter speed is forcibly set to the same time value as the frame rate. Shutter speed settingcannot be changed.Standard variable frame rate recording (pull-down recording)1 Set [1080-59.94P] ([1080-50P]) in the main menu → [SYSTEM MODE] → [LINE&FREQ].2 Set [AVC-I100/60P] or [AVC-I100/50P] in the main menu → [SYSTEM MODE] → [REC FORMAT].3 Set [ON] in the main menu → [SCENE FILE] → [VFR].4 Set the frame rate according to the shooting conditions in the main menu → [SCENE FILE] → [FRAME RATE].[FRAME RATE] can be changed using the dial button. For details, refer to “Direct menu operation” (page 75).5 Press the recording button.Recording starts in standard variable frame rate.
