2 Product Overview40Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI)If a fault is detected in the power supply to the machine, a Ground Fault Interrupter(GFI) device on the machine automatically cuts all electrical power. If power isinterrupted, locate the RESET button on the back of the machine. If the GFI has beentriggered, the RESET button will be in the tripped position. To restore power to themachine, press the RESET button.Before using the machine, press the TEST button. If the GFI is working properly, theRESET button should pop up. If it does, press the RESET button.NOTE: If the RESET button pops back up when you press it, or if power is notrestored by this procedure, contact the Xerox Welcome Center.Energy Saver ModesThe machine has a power saving feature that significantly reduces power consumptionduring periods of inactivity. The button is located on the upper-rightportion of the control panel, and lights up when the power saving feature is enabled.The power saving feature operates in the following modes.• Low Power Mode• Sleep ModeLow Power ModeThe machine automatically switches to the Low Power Mode after a certain period oftime from the last copy, fax, scan, or print operation. In this mode, the touch screen isturned off, and the light is on. The Low Power Mode is cancelled whenthe button on the control panel is pressed, or a fax or print job isreceived by the machine. The factory default setting of 5 minutes is customerchangeable within the range of 2 to 60 minutes.Sleep ModeThe machine automatically switches from the Low Power Mode to the Sleep Mode aftera further period of inactivity.
