Network-related Problems387Internet/Intranet ConnectionThis section explains the troubleshooting procedures and restrictions while usingInternet and intranet connections.TroubleshootingThe possible problems and actions are as follows. When you cannot connect to the Internet/intranetProblem ActionAuthentication service on aremote server is notsupported on the machine.Basic authentication only is supported on the machine.NTLM/digest is not supported. Change to authenticationusing SSL as security considerations require. The remote cooperationservice and the machinemodel options do not match. If using remote services, purchase the correspondingproduct, model, or options as necessary. The IP address is not setcorrectly.Check the IP address setting. If the IP address is not setcorrectly, supply a fixed IP address, or use DHCP or Autonetto assign an IP address. The IP gateway address isnot set correctly.Enter the correct IP gateway address if connected to a proxyserver or a web server through an IP gateway. The subway mask is not setcorrectly.Enter the correct subway mask that matches the operatingenvironment. The DNS server address isnot set correctly.Check the DNS server address. The DNS server addresscannot be resolved.Set the DNS server for resolving addresses.• When using a proxy server:Enter the DNS server address for resolving the proxyserver address.• When not using a proxy server:Enter the DNS server address for resolving the recipientaddresses. The address to bypass proxyserver setting is incorrect.Check whether only the address to bypass proxy is specified. If the server is accessed using a direct IP address whilespecifying an address to bypass proxy in FQDN format, theregistered server does not become an excluded object. Therefore, an IP address can be used as the bypass proxyaddress. Similarly, if the server is accessed using FQDNformat while specifying a direct IP address for the bypassproxy address, the registered server does not become anexcluded object. Therefore, an FDQN format can be used asthe bypass proxy address. The connected server orproxy server is down.Check that the server or proxy server you wish to connect tois operating normally. The network drops out or isdisconnected.Check the network cable connections. A spanning treeenvironment is recommended to construct a strongenvironment against network interruptions.Cannot communicate due tothe load on the serverapplication.Wait a while and try again.
