Check:• Swingarm excessive playRefer to “SWINGARM” on page 4-80.EAS21390ADJUSTING THE DRIVE CHAIN SLACKTIPThe drive chain slack must be checked at thetightest point on the chain.ECA13550A drive chain that is too tight will overloadthe engine and other vital parts, and onethat is too loose can skip and damage theswingarm or cause an accident. Therefore,keep the drive chain slack within the speci-fied limits.1. Stand the vehicle on a level surface.WARNINGEWA13120Securely support the vehicle so that thereis no danger of it falling over.TIPPlace the vehicle on a suitable stand so thatthe rear wheel is elevated.2. Move the rear wheel several times and findthe tightest position of drive chain.3. Check:• Drive chain slack “a”Out of specification → Adjust.4. Loosen:• Wheel axle nut “1”5.
