8-8 TroubleshootingSTATUS lampindication Description ProcedureOn (green) The server is operating normally. –Flashing(green)The server is operating with thememory in degraded state.Identify the device in degraded stateby using the BIOS setup utility"SETUP," and replace it as soon aspossible.A correctable memory error hasoften occurred.Off The power is off. –POST is in progress. Wait for a while. The STATUS lampturns green when POST is completed.A CPU error occurred. (IERR) Turn the power off and then turn it on.A timeout occurred when the timeset for the watchdog timer arrived.If the POST screen displays an errormessage, take notes of the message,and contact your servicerepresentative.A memory dump request (bypressing the DUMP switch) is made.Note: A memory dump is caused bysoftware, the STATUS lamp stays litgreen.Wait until the memory dump iscompleted.On (amber) A temperature alarm was detected. Check if the internal fans are cleanand if the fan units are firmlyconnected.If the STATUS lamp indication doesnot change when the fans are normal,contact your sales representative.A voltage alarm was detected. Contact your service representative.All the power supply units failed.Flashing(amber)Either of the following was detectedin the redundant powerconfiguration:• AC power not supplied to one ofthe two power supply units• Failure of one of the two powersupply unitsConnect the power cord to supplypower. If the power supply unit isfaulty, contact your servicerepresentative.A fan alarm was detected. Check if the fan units are firmlyconnected.If the STATUS lamp indication doesnot change when the fans are normal,contact your service representative.A temperature warning wasdetected.Check if the internal fans are cleanand if the fan units are firmlyconnected.If the STATUS lamp indication doesnot change when the fans are normal,contact your service representative.A voltage warning was detected Contact your service representative.An error was detected on either ofthe hard disk drives.A side cover may be open. Close the side cover. If the STATUSlamp indication does not change,contact your service representative.
