Refer to Alarmcodes on page 548.The port numbers (for example: XX12) on the Trunk Cartridgeand Station Module wiring charts have two components:• XX corresponds to the number that appears on the face ofthe Expansion Cartridge port that the Trunk Module orStation Module is connected to.• digits (for example, 01 or 12) identify an individual portnumber associated with that module.For example:The code 812 appearing as part of an error message for a TrunkModule indicates that the problem is with Expansion Cartridgeport #8 and internal port 12. The corresponding Trunk Modulepins on the distribution block are pin 47 (violet-orange) andpin 22 (orange-violet).Integrated Communications System (ICS)In the charts on the following pages, notice that the ICS hastwo internal modules, ICS #1 and ICS #2. ICS #1 handlestelephones and auxiliary equipment. ICS #2 handles lines.B1 and B2 directory numbersThe terms B1 and B2 correspond to channels on Norstar fortransmitting voice and data. Each DN port number has aB1 DN and a B2 DN. Devices such as the Norstar andBusiness Series telephones use only the B1 DN. Other devicesmay need both B1 and B2 channels, requiring B1 and B2 DNs.
