Chapter 9: Maintenance149In IE 7 (and later), IE is used as the default application to open files,so you are prompted to open the file versus save the file. To avoidthis, you must change the default application that is used to openfiles to WordPad®.2. To do this:a. Save the backup file. The backup file is saved locally on yourclient machine with the name and location specified.b. Once saved, locate the file and right-click on it. Select properties.c. In general tab, click Change and select WordPad.To restore your KX II-101-V2:WARNING: Exercise caution when restoring your KX II-101-V2 to anearlier version. Usernames and password in place at the time of thebackup will be restored. If you do not remember the old administrativeusernames and passwords, you will be locked out of the KX II-101-V2.In addition, if you used a different IP address at the time of thebackup, that IP address will be restored as well. If the configurationuses DHCP, you may want to perform this operation only when youhave access to the local port to check the IP address after the update.1. Choose the type of restore you want to run: Full Restore - A complete restore of the entire system. Generallyused for traditional backup and restore purposes. Protected Restore - Everything is restored except device-specificinformation such as IP address, name, and so forth. With thisoption, you can setup one KX II-101-V2 and copy theconfiguration to multiple KX II-101-V2 devices. Custom Restore - With this option, you can select User andGroup Restore, Device Settings Restore, or both: User and Group Restore - This option includes only user andgroup information. This option does not restore the certificateand the private key files. Use this option to quickly set upusers on a different KX II-101-V2. Device Settings Restore - This option includes only devicesettings such as power associations, USB profiles, bladechassis related configuration parameters, and Port Groupassignments. Use this option to quickly copy the deviceinformation.2. Click Browse. A Choose File dialog appears.3. Navigate to and select the appropriate backup file and click Open.The selected file is listed in the Restore File field.4. Click Restore. The configuration (based on the type of restoreselected) is restored.
