3 - 47CHKADJCHECKING THE STEERING SYSTEM1.Place the machine on a level surface.2.Check: Steering assembly bushingsMove the handlebar up and down, and/orback and forth.Excessive play → Replace the steering stembearing.3.Check: Tie-rod endsTurn the handlebar to the left and/or rightuntil it stops completely, then move thehandlebar from the left to the right slightly.Tie-rod end has any vertical play → Replacethe tie-rod end.4.Raise the front end of the machine so thatthere is no weight on the front wheels.5.Check: Ball joints and/or wheel bearingsMove the wheels laterally back and forth.Excessive free play → Replace the frontarms (upper and lower) and/or wheelbearings.ADJUSTING THE TOE-IN1.Place the machine on a level surface.2.Measure: Toe-inOut of specification → Adjust.*****************************************************Measurement steps:NOTE:Before measuring the toe-in, make sure thatthe tire pressure is correct.
