7 - 12DRIVFRONT CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINTS ANDDIFFERENTIAL GEAR3.Check: Differential gear operationUnsmooth operation → Replace thedifferential gear assembly.Insert the double off-set joint into thedifferential gear, and turn the gear back andforth.MEASURING AND ADJUSTING THEDIFFERENTIAL GEAR LASHMeasuring the differential gear lash1.Secure the gear case in a vise or anothersupporting device.2.Remove: Drain plug Gasket3.Install: A bolt of the specified size 1(into the drain plug hole)CAUTION:Finger tighten the bolt until it holds the ringgear. Otherwise, the ring gear will bedamaged.4.Attach: Gear lash measurement tool 1 Dial gauge 2a Measuring point is 25 mm (0.98 in)5.Measure: Gear lashGently rotate the gear coupling fromengagement to engagement .NOTE:Measure the gear lash at four positions.
