You andothers could be seriously injured orkilled.Setting Adaptive Cruise ControlIf J is on when not in use, it couldget pressed and go into ACC when notdesired. Keep J off when cruise isnot being used.Select the set speed desired for ACC.This is the vehicle speed when novehicle is detected in its path.ACC will not set at a speed less than25 km/h (16 mph), although it can beresumed when driving at lowerspeeds.To set ACC:1. Press J.2. Get up to the desired speed.3. Press and release SET– .4. Remove your foot from theaccelerator.After ACC is set, it may immediatelyapply the brakes if a vehicle ahead isdetected closer than the selectedfollowing gap.The ACC indicator displays in theinstrument cluster and Head-UpDisplay (HUD) (if equipped). When theACC is active, the indicator turnsgreen.Be mindful of speed limits,surrounding traffic speeds, andweather conditions when selecting theset speed.Resuming a Set SpeedIf the ACC is set at a desired speedand then the brakes are applied, theACC is disengaged without erasing theset speed from memory.To begin using ACC again, press +RESup briefly. The vehicle returns to theprevious set speed.Increasing Speed While ACC is at aSet SpeedIf ACC is already activated, do one ofthe following:. Use the accelerator to get to thehigher speed. Press SET– down.Release the control and theaccelerator pedal. The vehicle willnow cruise at the higher speed.When the accelerator pedal ispressed, ACC will not brakebecause it is overridden. The ACCindicator will turn blue on theinstrument cluster and theHead-Up Display (HUD) (ifequipped).. Press and hold +RES up until thedesired set speed appears on thedisplay, then release it.
