UMN:CLI User ManualV5812G50211.5.4 T-CONT ModeTransmission containers (T-CONTs) are used for the management of upstream bandwidthin PON section of the TC layer. T-CONTs dynamically receive grants, identified by Alloc-ID, from the OLT. A single T-CONT can carry GEM traffic with various service classes. Italso accommodates one or more physical queues and aggregates them into a singlelogical buffer so that this feature can be used for enhanced QoS implementation inupstream direction. The mechanism of T-CONT is shown in Fig. 11.5.Fixed BWAssured BWNon-AssuredBWBest-EffortBWGuaranteedAdditionalHighest PriorityLowest PriorityFig. 11.5 Priority of T-CONT typesThe V5812G provides the easy and efficient management solution using T-CONT conceptwith the Traffic profile.A GPON port is connected with multiple ONUs/ONTs via splitter. The GPONencapsulation mode (GEM) frames are transmitted between the OLT and the ONUs(ONTs). A GEM frame is identified by a GEM port ID. In the upstream direction, the T-CONTs carry the data stream. The Traffic profile is a collection of configurations about dynamic bandwidth allocation andGEM port according to the service priority levels. You can configure each T-CONT tohave a priority value using GEM port number. You need to open Traffic Profile Configuration mode to configure a T-CONT. A T-CONT IDcan include multiple T-CONTs and supports up to 8 priority queues per T-CONT.To create a T-CONT ID in Traffic Profile Configuration mode, use the following command.Command Mode Descriptiontcont TCONT-ID Traffic-ProfileCreates a T-CONT ID.TCONT-ID: T-CONT ID, 1 to 16After opening T-CONT Configuration mode, the prompt changes from SWITCH(config-traffic-pf[NAME])# to SWITCH(config-traffic-pf[NAME]-tcont[TCONT-ID])#.T-CONT type PON Service Class BW controlType1 TDM-voice Traffic ProvisionedType2 POTS/VoIPType3 & Type 4 V-RT dataBest effort data trafficDynamic
