138 CHAPTER 3: D EVICE CONFIGURATION■ NCP MAC address — Required only when the network has more thanone network call processor.■ Telephone IP address — A private IP address matching the IP addressscheme on the LAN side of the NAPT device but outside of the DHCPaddress range configured in the NAPT device. The telephone musthave a static IP address. For pcXset, this would be the IP address of thecomputer.■ NCP IP address — The IP address of the call processor that the phonemust communicate with. If you are not connecting to the networkthrough a VPN connection, the NBX system must have a public IPaddress.■ Subnet Mask — The address mask in use on the LAN side of the NAPTdevice.■ Default Gateway — The IP address of the NAPT device on the LAN.For details on how to use the LUI utility, see “Using the Telephone LocalUser Interface Utility” on page 359.4 Configure the NAPT device:Use the device’s user interface to map UDP ports 2093-2096 to the NBXtelephone IP address. These UDP ports are registered ports for NBXoperations. This mapping feature, known as virtual server, port mapping, port range forwarding, or rules, is required to allow traffic to pass to andfrom the NBX Telephone.Creating andManaging BridgedExtensionsBridged extensions allow you to have the extension of a primarytelephone appear on one or more secondary telephones. Most activitiesassociated with the extension can be performed on both the primarytelephone and any of the secondary telephones. However, you cannotuse a bridged extension on a secondary telephone to place a call.On any NBX system, you can configure a maximum number of primarytelephones and a maximum number of bridged extension on primarytelephones. See Table 24.
