Chapter 3—Installation and Wiring36 Power Xpert C445 Global Motor Management Relay MN042003EN—October 2016 www.eaton.comDigital InputsThere are 4 digital inputs on the Base Control Module. Themodule can be ordered with four 24 Vdc inputs or four120 Vac inputs. Some or all of these inputs may be used ifField Wire is selected as one of the control sources. Or, ifField Wire is not selected as one of the control sources, allof these inputs are available as general purpose inputs. Thestate of these inputs is available to a system controller overa supported fieldbus network. The wiring for the inputs ifthey are available as general purpose inputs is shown belowfor both 24 Vdc and 120 Vac.The Operation mode selected along with selecting Field Wireas one of the control sources determines which inputs areavailable as general purpose inputs. Refer to SystemConfiguration Operation on Page 65 for additionalinformation on the Operation modes of the C445 and whatfunctionality is assigned certain inputs based on theOperation mode. For more information on the Operation modes and Inputwiring if Fieldwire is selected as one of the control sources, refer to System Configuration Operation on Page 65.Below are wiring diagrams for the inputs on the BaseControl Module assuming Field Wire is not one of thecontrol sources, i.e. all inputs are available as generalpurpose inputs.AC Input OptionThe C445 Base Control Module with the AC Input optionallows for up to four 120 Vac Inputs to be connected.AC Input Field wiring is accomplished with a 7-pin, 5.00 mmpitch, removable screw terminal plug.Figure 42.
