6. Function blocks6.1 Manufacturer function blocks6.1.7.5 DL - Data loggerGeneraleasyE4 base devices provide exactly one data logger functionblock DL01.You can use the data logger function block to write operatingdata with a timestamp to a log file on a memory card in theeasyE4 base device. In order for this function block to work, amemory card must always be inserted in the device. You canselect a filename for the log file when configuring the functionblock.Digital function block inputs T1 through T4 and analog functionblock inputs I1 through I4 are always logged for each data set.In addition, the log will indicate which input triggered the log-ging operation.Operating principleLogging can be triggered with a rising edge at one of the trigger inputs T1 through T4 ora change at analog function block inputs I1 through I4. You can use the Delta ΔI para-meter for each function block input (I1 through I4) to specify the data change magnitudestarting from which logging will be triggered. There are two storage modes available for selection:1. All events will be saved in a single file [ring buffer], meaning that the file willgrow with every save operation. Once the maximum number of data sets isreached, the entries at the beginning will be overwritten.2. A new file will be created for each save operation until the number of log files isreached.Any byte, word, or double word operand can be connected to analog inputs I1 throughI4.The function block and its parametersFunction block inputsDescription Note(Bit)EN 1: Activates the function block.T1 1: Logging data set.T2 1: Logging data set.T3 1: Logging data set.T4 1: Logging data set.(DWord)I1 Analog value 1 for storage380 easyE4 11/18 MN050009 EN www.eaton.com
