Connection to other devices11.2 Establishing an Ethernet connection11.2 Establishing an Ethernet connectionIn order to make it easier to access the easyE4 base device, you can establish an Eth-ernet connection.Physical connectionEthernet uses point-to-point connections, meaning that whenever more than twodevices are connected, there needs to be a switch with a port for each device. It isrecommended to use appropriate industrial switches that have been developed for usein industrial environments. You can use any standard switch and Ethernet cable withRJ45 connectors.You can also use an Ethernet connection to program the individual devices.See also→ Section "Connecting the Ethernet cable", page 65→ Section "Establish Ethernet connection", page 119Prerequisites that must be met in order to be able to access an easyE4 control relays:l The PC must have an Ethernet port that is free and has been configuredl The PC's Ethernet port must be configured for auto-IP.l The easyE4 control relays must be connected to the PC with a standard Ethernetcable featuring an RJ45 connectorl An Ethernet address must have been assigned to the easyE4 deviceWrite down the IP address for the easyE4 device.
