6. Function blocks6.3 UF - User function block6.3.1.1 General information on user function blocksThe operand comments for a user function block are managed separately from the oper-and comments from the main program. This means, for example, that I1 ("Otto") in theuser function block can have a comment different from I1 ("Emil") in the main program. The markers and function blocks used in a user function block have their own self-con-tained data range. This precludes any conflicts with data from other user functionblocks or data from the main program. Likewise, the standard function blocks used in auser function block, as well as their parameter sets, are managed separately in the firm-ware for each function block instance. The number of instances of a manufacturer function block that can be used in a userfunction block is the same as the number that can be used in the main program. The pro-gram is limited only by the available program memory. When a main program is loaded onto an easyE4 device or into the current project, allthe user function blocks used in the main program will be loaded as well.6.3.2 Creating a user function blockOnce you have created a project and selected a programming language, you can createa user function block.Click on the Program/ Create user function block... menu optionorclick on the button in the toolbar. The Create user function block dialog box will appearProgram/ Create user function block... menu optioneasyE4 11/18 MN050009 EN www.eaton.com 433
