8. microSD memory card8.3 Loading new operating system8.3 Loading new operating systemeasyE4 base devices can be updated to a newer operating system.This operating system is provided for download by Eaton Industries GmbH, Bonnthrough its online Download Center – Software.Download the operating system you want on your computer.Connect an empty microSD memory card (Format FAT 12, 16, 32) to your com-puter.Use your PC to unpack the downloaded operating system to the ROOT of themicroSD memory card.The unpacked operating system file will be named "EASYE4.FW."Switch off the easyE4 base device.If there is a program on the base device, the program will be left unchanged when theoperating system is updated. Retentive data will remain unchanged as well.If the operating system on the device and the card match, the operating system willalways be run from the card.Insert the microSD memory card with the new operating system into the microSDcard holder and slide the holder into the deviceMake sure that the power is stable and that the device is notturned off while the operating system is being updated. If it is,the operating system may be corrupted.
