316 Configuring WSSs RemotelyNN47250-102 (320666-G Version 02.01)8 Power off or restart the switch.Preconfiguring a switch in WLAN Management SoftwareIf you know the switch’s serial number, use the following procedure to set up the switch’s configuration in WLANManagement Software.1 Start WLAN Management Software Services.2 Start a WLAN Management Software client and connect to WLAN Management Software Services.3 Select Services > Setup from the menu bar in the main WLAN Management Software window. TheWLAN Management Software Services Setup web page appears in your browser.4 Select Tools > WLAN Management Software Services Setup from the menu bar in the main WLANManagement Software window. The WLAN Management Software Services Setup wizard appears.5 On the Service Settings tab of the wizard (displayed by default), select Allow remote access, in theAccess Control area.6 Select Accept Self-signed Certificates, in the Connection Security area.7 Click Save.8 Click Save, then click Close.9 Open the network plan for the site, or select Plan Management and New Plan to create a new networkplan.10 Open the network plan for the site, or select File > New to create a new network plan.11 In the main WLAN Management Software window, access the Create WLAN—Security Switch wizard:12 Access the Create WLAN—Security Switch wizard:a Select the Configuration tool bar option.b In the Organizer panel, select the network plan name.c In the Task List panel, select WLAN—Security Switch.13 Enter a name for the switch in the WSS Name box.14 Select the switch model.15 Enter the serial number in the Serial Number box.16 Configure other parameters as required for the switch’s deployment.17 Click Finish to save the switch configuration and close the wizard.Note. You can configure an enable password for the switch even if it does notalready have one. When sending the configuration, WLAN Management Softwaretries the configured password first, then tries a blank password if the enablepassword does not match the one on the switch. If the switch does not have anenable password, the blank password is accepted. WLAN Management Softwarethen sends the configuration to the switch, including the configured (non-blank)enable password.
