Do one of the following:• On Windows systems, select Start > Programs > Nortel > WMS > WMS, ordouble-click the WLAN Management Software icon on the desktop.• On Linux systems, change directories to WMS_installation_directory/bin, and enter ./WMS.The WLAN Management Software Services Connection dialog appears.2 Enter the IP address or fully-qualified hostname of the machine on which the service isinstalled.If the service is installed on the same machine as the one you are using to run WLANManagement Software, enter 127.0.0.1 as the IP address. This is a standard IP loopbackaddress.3 Specify the service port, if different from the port number in the Service Port pull-down list.4 Enter a username and password, if required for access to the service.Usernames and passwords for accessing WMS Services are configured on the Service Settingstab. (See “Changing Service Settings” (page 464).)5 To configure WLAN Management Software client to remember the username and password forWMS Service access, select Remember user name and password.6 To automatically reopen the network plan that you worked with most recently, leave OpenNetwork Plan selected.If the Open Network Plan option is selected and this is the first time you are accessing theserver from this client, WLAN Management Software Services opens a new (blank) networkplan.7 Click Next.Note. If a firewall is enabled on the host where you install WMS Services, WMSServices will not be able to communicate with WLAN Management Software client or withWSSs unless the firewall is configured to allow through traffic for the SSL and SNMP ports(443 and 162 by default).Note. The port number used by WMS Services must not be used by anotherapplication on the machine where WMS Services is installed. If the port number isused by another application, change the port number on WMS Services. (See“Changing Service Settings” (page 464).)
