Read the safety information and installation guidelines, see“Safety” on page viiand “Installation guidelines” on page 45.2. Turn off the server (see “Turning off the server” on page 41) and all attachedperipheral devices. Disconnect all power cords; then, disconnect all externalcables as necessary to replace the device.3. Follow the instructions for removing the I/O book in which you want to installthe adapter.4. Open the adapter retention lever.5. Disconnect the external cables from the existing adapter.6. Disconnect the cable from the RAID cache card, if a cache card is installed onthe adapter.7. Carefully grasp the adapter by the edges and pull it out of the connector on theexpansion module board.8.
