Configuring the System − Getting StartedPage 21Saving ChangesChanges are saved only when you leave the Installer menu. If you remove all powerbefore leaving the Installer menu, changes will not be saved. Note that this does not applyif you restore factory defaults; that change takes place immediately.Code LockoutsIf you (or any user) enter your code incorrectly or present an unrecognised proximity tag,the display shows the time and date again, gives an error tone and you can try again.If there are four consecutive incorrect access codes or proximity tags, the system starts atamper alarm and locks out all users for 90 seconds. This event is recorded in the log as“Excess Keys Tamper”.Once the lock-out time has expired, you can try again. If the next attempt is also invalid,system locks for another 90 seconds, but will not start another tamper alarm.Transferring to another keypadWhile in the Installer menu, you can transfer to any other keypad without leaving theInstaller menu. To do this, simply go to any other keypad and enter the Installer accesscode. The new keypad will pick up your position in the Installer menu. The keypad youhave left will exit the Installer menu.Understanding the User InterfaceSelecting OptionsThe control unit displays configuration options in menus. The top-level Installer menucontains options such as Detectors/Devices:You can select a different option by pressing the  or  key at the keypad until the nameof the option or device you want is displayed. For example, pressing  once whenDetectors/Devices is displayed displays Outputs:Pressing  displays the earlier option in the menu. For example, pressing  once whenOutputs is displayed displays Detectors/Devices.Pressing  selects that option, which may display a menu of further options. For example,selecting Detectors/Devices displays the first option in the Detectors/Devices menu:You can repeat the process until you have selected the lowest-level setting you want tochange.Pressing  at the keypad takes you back one level. For example, pressing  when you arein the Detectors/Devices – Detectors menu takes you back to the Detectors/Devicesmenu.
