Install the upper mounting nut 2 andlower mounting nut 3, and then tightenthem to the specified torques.Removing the power trim and tilt unit1. Fully tilt the outboard motor up, and thensupport it with the tilt stop lever 1.WARNINGAfter tilting up the outboard motor, besure to support it with the tilt stop lever.Otherwise, the outboard motor could sud-denly lower if the power trim and tilt unitshould lose fluid pressure.NOTE:If the power trim and tilt does not operate,loosen the manual valve and tilt the outboardmotor up manually.2. Remove the anode 2 and bolts 3.3. Loosen the self-locking nut 4, and thenmove the clamp brackets slightly in thedirection of the arrows.WARNINGDo not remove the tilt stop lever 1 fromthe clamp brackets.4. Remove the plastic ties 5, and then pullout the PTT motor lead 6.5. Remove the circlip 7, then the shaft 8.6.
