Remove the PTT motor screws 1, thenthe yoke 2.CAUTION:Do not allow grease or oil to contact thecommutator.NOTE:Place a clean cloth over the end of the arma-ture shaft and carefully pull the armature fromthe yoke with a pair of pliers as shown.2. Remove the screws 3, disconnect thePTT motor leads 4, and then removethe springs 5 and brushes 6.Checking the power trim and tiltmotor1. Check the commutator for dirt or foreignsubstances. Clean with #600 grit sand-paper if necessary.2. Check the commutator undercut for dirtor foreign substances. Clean with com-pressed air if necessary.3. Measure the commutator diameter a.Replace if out of specification.4. Check the armature coil for continuity.Replace if out of specifications.Commutator diameter limit a:25.0 mm (0.98 in)
