Check the fluid level again when therams are fully extended. Add sufficientfluid, if necessary, and then repeat step7.NOTE:Repeat this procedure until the fluid remainsat the correct level.Built-in1. Loosen the manual valve by turning itcounterclockwise until it cannot be turnedfurther.2. Fully tilt the outboard motor up, and thenrelease it and let it lower by its ownweight four to five times.3. Tighten the manual valve by turning itclockwise.4. Let the fluid settle for 5 minutes.5. Push and hold the power trim and tiltswitch in the up position until the out-board motor is fully tilted up.6. Support the outboard motor with the tiltstop lever, and then let the fluid settle for5 minutes.WARNINGAfter tilting up the outboard motor, besure to support it with the tilt stop lever.Otherwise, the outboard motor could sud-denly lower if the power trim and tilt unitshould lose fluid pressure.7. Remove the reservoir cap 1, and thencheck the fluid level in the reservoir.8. If necessary, add sufficient fluid of therecommended type to the correct level.NOTE:If the fluid is at the correct level, the fluidshould overflow out of the filler hole when thecap is removed.9. Install the reservoir cap.NOTE:Repeat this procedure until the fluid remainsat the correct level.Recommended power trim and tiltfluid:ATF Dexron IIPower trim and tilt unit / Bleeding the power trim and tilt unit
