Insert a gear oil tube or gear oil pumpinto the drain hole and slowly fill withgear oil until oil flows out of the checkhole and no air bubbles are visible.5. Install new gaskets and the gear oilcheck screw 2, quickly install the gearoil drain screw 1, and then tighten themto the specified torque.Checking the lower unit for airleakage1. Remove the gear oil check screw 1, andthen install the special service tool.2. Apply the specified pressure and checkthat the pressure is maintained in thelower unit for at least 10 seconds.CAUTION:Do not overpressurize the lower unit, oth-erwise the oil seals can be damaged.NOTE:Cover the check hole with a rag when remov-ing the special service tool from the lowerunit.3.
