10/14 Rev. 03 USER/SERVICE MANUAL Technical Data64-xx Gen. 2/310The effect of ribbon saving depends on the print speed. The reason for this is the upand down movement of the print head as well as the acceleration and slowing-downof the ribbon. Generally said: With a high print speed, less ribbon is saved as with alow print speed (Tab. 8).Cutting or dispensing applications can additionally deteriorate the effect of ribbonsaving.Activate the automatic ribbon saving: See parameter SYSTEM PARAMETER >Ribbon autoecon..Setting the minimum distance between two print areas from which on ribbon savingshould be activated: See parameter SYSTEM PARAMETER > Ribb. eco. limit.
