3-32PERIODIC MAINTENANCEHandling notes for coolantCoolant is potentially harmful and should behandled with special care.WARNINGEWA13040• If coolant splashes in your eyes, thorough-ly wash them with water and consult a doc-tor.• If coolant splashes on your clothes, quicklywash it away with water and then with soapand water.• If coolant is swallowed, induce vomitingand get immediate medical attention.NOTICEECA13481• Adding water instead of coolant lowers theantifreeze content of the coolant. If water isused instead of coolant, check, and if nec-essary, correct the antifreeze concentra-tion of the coolant.• Use only distilled water. However, if dis-tilled water is not available, soft water maybe used.• If coolant comes into contact with paintedsurfaces, immediately wash them with wa-ter.• Do not mix different types of antifreeze.10.Install:• Radiator cap11.Fill:• Coolant reservoir(with the recommended coolant to the maxi-mum level mark “a”)12.Install:• Coolant reservoir cap13.Start the engine, warm it up for one minute,and then stop it.TIPPlace the vehicle on the centerstand.14.Check:• Coolant levelRefer to “CHECKING THE COOLANT LEV-EL” on page 3-29.TIPBefore checking the coolant level, wait a fewminutes until the coolant has settled.15.Install:• Footboard• Rear side cowling assembly• Side cover• Fuel tank cover assembly• Center coverRefer to “GENERAL CHASSIS (2)” onpage 4-11.• Bottom center cowling• Side panel• Bottom side cowlingRefer to “GENERAL CHASSIS (1)” onpage 4-1.EAS31188REPLACING THE V-BELT1.
