7-11THROTTLE BODYTIP• Do not allow any cleaning solvent to enter theopening for the injectors.• Do not apply any cleaning solvent to the por-tions of the throttle valve shafts between thethrottle bodies.e. Remove the carbon deposits from the in-side of each throttle body in a downward di-rection, from the air filter case side of thethrottle body to the engine side.NOTICEECA17590• Do not use a tool, such as a wire brush, toremove the carbon deposits; otherwise, theinside of the throttle bodies may be dam-aged.• Do not allow carbon deposits or other for-eign materials to enter any of the passagesin each throttle body or in the space be-tween the throttle valve shaft and the throt-tle body.f. After removing the carbon deposits, cleanthe inside of the throttle bodies with the rec-ommended cleaning solvent, and then drythe throttle bodies using compressed air.g. Make sure that there are no carbon depos-its or other foreign materials in any of thepassages “a” in each throttle body or in thespace “b” between the throttle valve shaftand the throttle body.3. Install the throttle bodies.4. Reset:• ISC (idle speed control) learning valueUse the diagnostic code number “67”.Refer to “DIAGNOSTIC CODE: SENSOROPERATION TABLE” on page 9-58.5. Adjust:• Throttle bodies synchronizingOut of specification  Replace the throttlebodies.Refer to “SYNCHRONIZING THE THROT-TLE BODIES” on page 3-9.EAS31160REPLACING THE THROTTLE BODIES1. Remove the throttle bodies from the vehicle.2. Install a new throttle bodies to the vehicle.3. Adjust:• Throttle bodies synchronizingRefer to “SYNCHRONIZING THE THROT-TLE BODIES” on page 3-9.5. Place the vehicle on a maintenance stand sothat the rear wheel is elevated.6. Check:• Engine idling speedStart the engine, warm it up, and then mea-sure the engine idling speed.EAS30480INSTALLING THE INJECTORSNOTICEECA19400• Always use new O-rings.• When installing the injectors, do not allowany foreign material to enter or adhere tothe injectors, fuel rails, or O-rings.• Be careful not to twist or pinch the O-ringswhen installing the injectors.• When installing the injector, install it at thesame position as the removed cylinder.• If an injector is subject to strong shocks orexcessive force, replace it.1. Install a new seal onto the end of each injec-tor.2. Install the injectors to the fuel rail, makingsure to install them in the correct direction.3.
