4-33REAR WHEELEAS30910REMOVING THE REAR WHEELNOTICEECA21030• Keep any type of magnets (including mag-netic pick-up tools, magnetic screwdrivers,etc.) away from the rear wheel sensor orrear wheel sensor rotor; otherwise, the sen-sor or rotor may be damaged, resulting inimproper performance of the ABS system.• Do not drop the rear wheel sensor rotor orsubject it to shocks.• If any solvent gets on the rear wheel sensorrotor, wipe it off immediately.1. Stand the vehicle on a level surface.WARNINGEWA13120Securely support the vehicle so that there isno danger of it falling over.TIPPlace the vehicle on the centerstand so that therear wheel is elevated.2. Remove:• Rear wheel sensor• Rear brake caliper• Rear brake lock caliperNOTICEECA25760• Do not apply the brake lever when remov-ing the brake caliper.• Be sure not to contact the sensor electrodeto any metal part when removing the rearwheel sensor from the rear brake caliperbracket.3. Loosen:• Locknut• Adjusting bolt(left side and right side)4. Remove:• Wheel axle nut• Washer• Rear wheel axle• Rear wheel• Rear brake caliper bracket• Rear wheel sensor housing• CollarNOTICEECA21400Be sure to remove the rear wheel sensor be-fore removing the brake caliper bracket, oth-erwise the sensor could be damaged.TIPPush the rear wheel forward and remove thedrive belt from the rear wheel pulley.EAS31154DISASSEMBLING THE REAR WHEELNOTICEECA21340• Do not drop the wheel sensor rotor or sub-ject it to shocks.• If any solvent gets on the wheel sensor ro-tor, wipe it off immediately.1.
