Check:• Oil cooler inlet hose• Oil cooler outlet hoseCracks/damage/wear  Replace.EAS30442INSTALLING THE OIL COOLER1. Clean:• Mating surfaces of the oil cooler and thecrankcase(with a cloth dampened with lacquer thinner)2. Install:• Gasket• Oil cooler “1”• Oil filter cartridge union bolt “2”TIP• Make sure that the gasket is positioned proper-ly.• Apply engine oil to the oil filter cartridge unionbolt thread and its seat of the oil cooler side.• Align the projection “a” on the oil cooler with theslot “b” in the crankcase.3. Install:• Oil filter cartridgeRefer to “CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL” onpage 3-27.4. Fill:• Cooling system(with the specified amount of the recom-mended coolant)Refer to “CHANGING THE COOLANT” onpage 3-31.• Crankcase(with the specified amount of the recom-mended engine oil)Refer to “CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL” onpage 3-27.5. Check:• Cooling systemLeaks  Repair or replace any faulty part.Refer to “INSTALLING THE RADIATOR” onpage 6-5.6.
