USER’S GUIDE110 SmartSwitch Remote Access ModuleI NITIALIZATION M ESSAGESThe system reports a variety of messages during a successful system initialization. These messagesmay include: status of bridge, status of LAN ports and adapters, data link, SNMP, and TFTPinformation. The following are examples of typical initialization messages:Bridge is operating in UNRESTRICTED modeData link up: Slot= #> Port= #> Ces= endpoint suffix>[SNMP] SNMP initialized successfullyNORMAL O PERATION M ESSAGESThe system normal operation messages may include information such as:Call Restrictions have been disabled by user commandWAN Port is now in the state> stateSPANNING T REE M ESSAGESThe Spanning Tree protocol is only supported by the Ethernet-2 interface card.Spanning Tree protocol messages are prefaced with [STP]. During normal operation, whenSpanning Tree protocol is enabled, the system may report informational messages such as:[STP] A new Root Bridge has been detected[STP] LAN Port #> is now a Designated PortW ARNING M ESSAGESSystem warning messages signal events that you should investigate. These messages may benormal during certain network conditions, or they may indicate a problem. The system shouldcontinue to operate after posting a warning message. If the system fails to operate normally, thenreport it using the problem report form included in Getting Assistance.E RROR M ESSAGESWhen the system detects errors, it reports error messages. If the faulty component cannot beidentified, and an error condition persists, then report the error by using the problem report formincluded in Getting Assistance.S YSTEM MESSAGE S UMMARYThe following pages list all the informational, warning and error messages alphabetically. The textdescribes the messages, and includes suggestions for problem resolution (if applicable). Note thatthe trace messages have been isolated for your convenience, and are summarized in the nextchapter. # 000: Couldn’t open the file C:\SYSTEM\PLATFORM.NEIThe open operation failed, no further detail is available. # 0000: Error reading C:\SYSTEM\PLATFORM.NEIThe read operation failed, perform a software upgrade to reinstall the file. |
