9W006 and 9W007 73S YSTEM VERIFICATIONVerifying the Dial Out FeatureV ERIFYING THE DIAL O UT FEATURETo perform the Dial Out verification for a remote device, you need to know the configured devicename associated with the device’s device table entry. Note that the device name is case sensitive.1. The following administrative command is used to verify that the Dial Out feature is operationalto a specific remote device:call device name>For example, to verify that the Dial Out feature is operational for remote device with fred as theconfigured device name, you would entercall device fred at the system prompt.2. A message will be displayed indicating whether or not the call was made successfully. Refer toDial Out in the Problem Diagnosis chapter if the call was not made successfully.V ERIFYING C OMPRESSION IS OPERATIONAL1. Make sure compression is enabled on a system-wide basis.2. Cause a call to be established with a device for which per-device compression is enabled.3. To verify that compression is in effect with the device, issue thecmp stats console command while the connection is in place. If compression is in effect, this commandwill display the current compression counters and ratios. If compression is not in effect, thecommand will return an indication that the device is a non-compressed connection. Ifcompression is not in effect, refer to Compression in the Problem Diagnosis chapter.V ERIFYING R ESERVED B ANDWIDTH IS O PERATIONAL1. Configure several different combinations of lines and devices.2. Attempt outbound and inbound calls.3. Verify the proper success and reject of each.If there is a problem, check the configuration of the profiles and how they are assigned to eachdevice. Use SFVRA-CFG to check the profile configurations. To do this:a. If it is not already running, start up SFVRA-CFG.b. From the toolbar, select Functions then select Sites, or click the icon.c. Select a site from the displayed list.d. Click on the Systems tab.e. Click on Edit Systems Settings.f. Click on the Circuit Groups tab.g. Check the circuit group configuration for this device. Make any necessary changes.
