Chapter 8: Using the Command Line Interface435Restarting the DeviceThis command restarts the EMX device. It is not a factory default reset.To restart the EMX device:1. Ensure you have entered administrator mode and the # prompt isdisplayed.2. Type either of the following commands to restart the EMX device.# reset unit-- OR --# reset unit /y3. If you entered the command without "/y" in Step 2, a messageappears prompting you to confirm the operation. Type y to confirmthe reset.4. Wait until the Username prompt appears, indicating the reset iscomplete.Note: If you are performing this command over a USB connection,re-connect the USB cable after the reset is completed, or the CLIcommunications are lost.Resetting to Factory DefaultsThe following commands restore all settings of the EMX device to factorydefaults.To reset EMX settings after login, use either command:# reset factorydefaults-- OR --# reset factorydefaults /yTo reset EMX settings before login:Username: factorydefaultsSee Using the CLI Command (on page 478) for details.Network TroubleshootingThe EMX provides 4 diagnostic commands for troubleshooting networkproblems: nslookup, netstat, ping, and traceroute. The diagnosticcommands function as corresponding Linux commands and can getcorresponding Linux outputs.
