OPERATIONLSM 510 Image OptimizationB 40-051 e 07/98 4-934.7.3 Scan speedThe signal-to-noise ratio can be substantiallyimproved by reducing the scanning speed to anacceptable level and averaging over several scans(i.e. with an Average Number greater than 1 inthe "Scan Control" window). Use the Scan Speed slider on the Speed panelto set the slowest acceptable scanning speed. The corresponding pixel scanning time (PixelTime) and the total scanning time (ScanTime) are shown in the dialog box. In the Number text box of the Pixel Depth,Scan Direction & Scan Average panel enterthe number of measurements to be averaged.+ Image optimization can be effectedmuch faster if you select a smallerframe, since less data have to beprocessed.Fig. 4-102 |
