OPERATIONLSM 510 AnnexB 40-051 e 07/98 4-1714.12.2 Filter change in the detection beam path of channels 1 and 2For optimum investigation of specimens it is useful to employ filter wheels permitting motor-controlledchange between different filters for narrow-band or broad-band detection depending on the wave-length. The number of filters is limited by the capacity of the filter wheel. The change of the filter wheelas a whole involves complete readjustment. The filter wheels of channels 1 and 2 of the Scanning Module have a change position in which a filter, including its mount, can be changed in a reproducible position without requiring readjustment. Thefilters can be rotated in their cells, and with the light path being eccentric relative to the filter center, thebest transmission area of the filter for the respective wavelength or pass range can be found by rotatingthe filter. This is very important for the investigation of specimens of low emission.Filter change By software control, move filter wheel (4-1/5)to the change position. Pull cover cap (4-1/1) off the Scanning Module. Use the wire stirrup (4-1/2) to pull the filtermount (4-1/4) with the filter (4-1/3) out of theguide well. Change filter to suit the application.+ The filter is rotatable in its mount, allowing adjustment for finding thebest transmission area of the filter forthe wavelength used.
