Press AUTO to return toautomatic operation; recirculationruns automatically as needed.Manual recirculation mode is notavailable when in Defrost or Defogmodes.Auto Defog : The climate controlsystem may have a sensor toautomatically detect high humidityinside the vehicle. When highhumidity is detected, the climatecontrol system may adjust to outsideair supply and turn on the airconditioner. If the climate controlsystem does not detect possiblewindow fogging, it returns to normaloperation. An indicator lighton the button comes on to show thatthe rear window defogger is on. Therear window defogger only workswhen the engine is running.The rear window defogger turns offautomatically after about 15 minutes.At higher vehicle speeds, the rearwindow defogger may stay oncontinuously.The upper gridlines on the rearwindow are antenna lines and are notintended to heat when the defogger isactivated.The heated outside mirrors turn onwhen the rear window defoggerbutton is on. They help to clear fog orfrost from the surface of the mirrors.The rear window defogger can be setto automatic operation. See “Climateand Air Quality” under VehiclePersonalization 0 140. When auto reardefog is selected, the rear windowdefogger turns on automatically whenthe interior temperature is cold andthe outside temperature is about 4 °C(40 °F) and below. The auto reardefogger turns off automatically.CautionDo not try to clear frost or othermaterial from the inside of thefront windshield and rear windowwith a razor blade or anything elsethat is sharp. This may damage therear window defogger grid andaffect the radio's ability to pick upstations clearly.
