The components that are con-nected with the SmartWire-DT system are connected, e.g. to PROFIBUS-DPor CANopen communication networks via gateways. The SmartWire-DT system makes it possible to connect up to 99 modules toa SmartWire-DT line. These modules can be SmartWire-DT modules used to connect DIL contac-tors, PKE motor-protective circuit-breakers and motor starters, DS7 softstarters, field bus modules, and NZM circuit-breakers, as well as SmartWire-DT I/O modules, SmartWire-DT RMQ modules, and base modules for signaltowers. The electrical connection is effected via a special 8 pole connecting cable andthe relevant plugs.0.2.1 SWD-AssistThe SWD-Assist SmartWire-DT planning and ordering program can beextremely useful when planning and configuring a SmartWire-DT network interms of hardware and software.SWD Assist provides support in selecting and configuring the various SWDcomponents and the SWD network. The SWD-Assist planning program has the current consumption specifica-tions for all SmartWire-DT modules. During planning, it will automatically cal-culate and display the corresponding system's current consumption. The latest version, which features all currently supported SWD modules, canbe downloaded by using the integrated update function in SWD-Assist ordirectly from the Eaton Download Center:T-Connectors are supported in SWD-Assist Version V2.20 and higher; BlockModules are supported in Version V2.40 and higher.→ SWD-Assist runs on the following operating systems: WindowsVista (32 Bit), Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10.The SWD Assist software is available free of charge for down-load on the Eaton website at:They can be quickly located athttp://www.eaton.eu → Customer Support → DownloadCenter – Documentation by entering "SWD-Assist" as a searchterm into the Quick Search field.
