9 SL4-SWD and SL7-SWD base modules for signal towers9.3 EngineeringSmartWire-DT modules IP20 09/17 MN05006001Z EN www.eaton.com 2079.3 EngineeringBase modules SL4-SWD and SL7-SWD require two supply voltages. The first one - the 15-V U SWD supply voltage for controlling the base modules- is provided by the SWD line. The second one - the 24-V supply voltage for the light/acoustic modules - canbe provided in one of two ways:• The SWD line can carry the 24-V UAUX supply voltage. To achieve this, either a 24 VDC supply voltage has to be fed into theAUX terminals on the SmartWire-DT coordinator or an EU5C-SWD-PF1-1or EU5C-SWD-PF1-2 power module has to be connected to the SWD lineupstream of the base module.• An external 24 V DC power supply can be connected using the basemodule's push-in terminals.Jumpers are used in order to choose which of the supply voltages providedwill be supplied to the light/acoustic modules. The signal and supply cables are connected to the SmartWire-DT ribboncable using a SmartWire-DT SWD4-8MF2 blade terminal. The push-in termi-nals are designed to accommodate wires with a gauge of AWG24 to AWG16and wires with a cross-sectional area of 0.25 to 1.5 mm2.The current requirement is:• USWD (15 V DC): 26 mA,• UAUX (24 V DC) → Page 254.→ Please calculate your SmartWire-DT system's total power con-sumption and, if necessary, add an additional EU5C-SWD-PF2-1power supply module. For more information, please refer to themanual „SmartWire-DT The System“, MN05006002Z.→ For data regarding the SWD modules' current consumption, please refer to the tables in the appendix on pages 253 and 254.
