This requires:• Universal module M22-SWD-NOP on the SWD ribbon cable (front mount-ing) OR• Universal module M22-SWD-NOPC in the M22-I… surface mountingenclosure on the SmartWire-DT printed circuit board (base fixing)The goal is to make it possible to configure and program a full system or sys-tem expansion in the corresponding PLC user program without having tophysically install the required hardware right away so that later additions willbe easier to make. The user program can detect the presence of a universal module (bits 4 and7 in the input table for the first input byte). If the universal module is replaced with the configured device later on, it willnot be necessary to modify the user program for the PLC or the hardwareconfiguration. The interoperability requirements for these SWD modules are described in→ Section 14.5, „SWD module interoperability requirements“, page 258.11.1.1 Procedure▶ In the PLC’s control configuration, set up the SWD modules that will berequired at a later date in addition to the ones that will be installed andused immediately. When installing the corresponding hardware, install a universal module(s)instead of the SmartWire-DT module(s) that you will be requiring at a laterdate.▶ In the user program, run a scan to check whether the installed module isthe SWD module that was originally set up or a universal module.Make sure to control your program flow based on this information.▶ If a universal module is later replaced with the originally configured SWDmodule, the latter module must be added to the SmartWire-DT networkby pressing the “Config.” button on the gateway.11.2 Surface mountingThe universal modules can be both front- and base-fixed.
